Cllr Andrew Beere
Andrew Beere serves on Cherwell District Council representing Banbury Grimsbury and Hightown and Banbury Town Council, representing Grimsbury.
He was elected to Banbury Town Council in May 2012. He has been a lifelong Labour Party and Co-operative Party member.
Born and educated in Banbury, Andy is now retired but he worked in Public Transport and was a member of the GMB and RMT unions
Cllr Rebecca Biegel
Rebecca was elected as Councillor for Banbury Grimsbury and Hightown in the May 2022 local elections.
Rebecca was born in Birmingham and grew up in the West Midlands. After living in different parts of the country, she moved to the local area 20 years ago and has lived in Grimsbury in Banbury since 2016.
She runs her own small, local business and over the years has been a school governor, PTA member and road safety campaigner. She is honoured to have been elected to Banbury Town Council in 2021 and to Cherwell District Council in 2022 to represent her local community. Rebecca is also a member of the Co-operative Party.
Rebecca has been a member of several local Banbury Sports clubs and still enjoys running and cycling.
Cllr Sean Woodcock
Sean was born in Banbury and has lived here nearly all his life. His father runs a small business locally and his mother works in social care. After graduating with a BA in History from Reading, Sean gained an MA at Birmingham University.
Sean has worked in social housing and community investment for nearly a decade.
He was first elected to Cherwell District and Banbury Town councils in May 2012 and became Leader of the Labour group on the District Council in February 2013. He became the youngest Mayor of Banbury on record in 2014. Sean previously represented Banbury Ruscote, but in May 2023 stood for Grimsbury & Hightown and was reelected as a Councillor here.
He was Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Banbury in the General Election 2015 and increased Labour’s vote by 2.1%. He stood again for the seat in the snap General Election of 2017 when the Labour vote increased by 12.8%
Sean is a member of Unison and the Co-operative Party. He is also a governor of a local school.
Sean enjoys sport, particularly rugby and football, and is an avid Liverpool fan.
Cllr Shaida Hussein
Shaida serves on Banbury Town Council Representing Grimsbury.
Shaida was born and bred in Banbury. She went to local schools and has lived in Grimsbury all her life. She was elected on the town council in 2012, and thoroughly enjoys representing her ward.
