A Fresh Start For Cherwell
Cherwell’s a great place to live.
During the pandemic, our community stepped up with people looking after their
neighbours.
Our increasingly diverse community also led the way in providing support and refuge to the
people of Ukraine.
But we’re all facing a cost of living crisis that is making life just a little more difficult and
sometimes leads to uncomfortable decisions needing to be made.
That’s why you need a council that is on your side and careful with your money. So this
election really matters.
Labour are on your side.
Our councillors spend all year knocking on doors, speaking tp you and listening to your
concerns.
We speak out in the chamber about your priorities.
And we drive the agenda with action on warm spaces, the cost of living, food poverty,
housing and the environment.
The Conservatives have stopped listening and are out of touch. Their councillors sit silently
at meetings because they’re out of ideas after twenty years running the council. The result
is that you now pay more while receiving less.
Labour want to make our streets safer. The Conservatives tried to cut town centre CCTV.
Labour want cleaner estates. The Conservatives are charging you to empty your brown bins.
Labour want decent, affordable housing for all. The Conservatives want unfettered
development and to protect the interests of landlords instead of tenants.
Only Labour is offering the leadership that this district deserves. Labour will deliver a
cleaner, greener future.
Vote Labour for a fresh start in Cherwell.

Our priorities for Cherwell
1. Deliver more genuinely affordable homes, to rent and to buy, for local people.
2. Tackle the 50% of homes in Cherwell that have an energy efficiency rating of below
average.
3. Improve standards in rented accommodation with a Tenants’ Charter.
4. Action to address the climate emergency including a Citizens’ Assembly.
5. Put mental health and tackling loneliness at the heart of what the Council does.
6. Focus investment into creating dynamic town centres.
7. Clean up our estates with zero-tolerance to fly-tipping.
