The Hill Centre in Ruscote officially reopened in January 2020 after local Labour Councillors had spent seven years of campaigning, lobbying and arguing for proper spending on this amazing asset.

It all started in 2013 with a leaky roof and the sports hall fell in disuse except for buckets to collect the rain water.  Councillors Sean Woodcock, Mark Cherry and Barry Richards were appalled to find there was no money put aside for repairs and started a long campaign at Cherwell District Council to fund and restore The Hill.  By the time Cherwell District eventually came up with estimates for a repair, it had become uneconomic to fix the roof and so the local Councillors argued for a complete rebuild and for sufficient funds to do the job properly.

More and more delays led to increasing costs, but happily Sports England stepped in and with the help of lottery funding and other Grants we finally have a fantastic brand new purpose built Centre.
