Cllr Hannah Banfield at Hennef Way Tarmac site

Tarmac Trading have submitted a new planning application to Oxfordshire County Council for their Hennef Way site. If granted this application would increase HGV movements on Hennef Way from 80 per day to 400 per day.

County Councillor for Grimsbury and Castle Hannah Banfield coordinated a campaign against similar planning applications from Tarmac last year, and is equally worried about the new one put forward

“I have grave concerns about the negative repercussions for people’s health especially those with homes located by the plant on Waterworks Way, and also people with homes located next to Hennef Way. As this dual carriageway has double the legal limit of (NO2) pollution at this point and the highest level of (NO2) pollution in the whole county. Also if this application is granted the negative impacts on Ecology would be great in my opinion, and noise, dust, and light pollution would definitely increase.”

If you share our concerns please email your objections to Naomi.woodcock@oxfordshire.gov.uk and please Cc in Rachel.Wileman@oxfordshire.gov.uk before the 30/04/2020.
